Mount Sinai Hospital Completes New Surgical Tower in Miami
Crawford-Tracey Corporation Supplies and Installs Glazing for New Tower
Crawford-Tracey Corporation is pleased to announce the completion of the Mt. Sinai New Surgical Tower in Miami. The new tower is classified as an Essential Facility, meeting the Level E and Level D glazing requirements defined by the Florida Building Code and the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
Crawford-Tracey supplied and installed the exterior glazing, using their Pro-Tech 7SG, 9SG and 45SG curtain wall and window wall products. The Pro-Tech line was the product of choice to meet the essential facility requirements while achieving the desired aesthetics of the tower design. In addition to meeting the more stringent missile requirements, the Pro-Tech products provided a water resistance rating of 100psf, compared to the industry average of 12 to 15psf. Crawford-Tracey worked directly with the project design team at Cannon Design, assisting with the initial glazing design and budgeting.
The new seven-story surgical tower provides 12 operating rooms and 154 private patient rooms with views of Biscayne Bay. There is also a two-story atrium, courtyard and curated art from local Miami artist. The General Contractor for the tower was Robins & Morton with construction management by ADAMS Management Services Corporation. Construction began in August 2016 and will officially open on February 2, 2019.
