Crawford-Tracey Wins Award for Most Innovative Curtain Wall
Crawford-Tracey is pleased to announce their latest award; Glass Magazine’s 2018 Award for the Most Innovative Curtain Wall Project (under 6 floors) for the Balenciaga Flagship Store in Miami. The Crawford-Tracey curtain wall system was one of the first photovoltaic, impact-resistant, glass facades with a water rating of 100 psf.
This unique façade design was spearheaded by Balenciaga’s artistic director Demna Gvasalia, who worked with New York-based architectural firm Atmosphere Design Group (AGD). AGD specified Onyx, a Spanish PV glass manufacturer and brought in Crawford-Tracey to incorporate the PV glass into their Pro-Tech 7SG, a 7” structurally glazed curtain wall system, designed to meet Florida’s tough hurricane code requirements.
This prestigious glass and metal industry awards program recognizes the best products and glass applications the commercial, retail and fabrication markets have to offer. To determine the winners in the product and project categories, Glass Magazine submitted nominations to a panel of judges representing all segments of the glass and glazing industry. The judges then selected a winner in each category. The winners are featured in the September 2018 issue of Glass Magazine and on GlassMagazine.com.
