Crawford-Tracey Awarded Retrofit Glazing Package on First Hospital Panamericano Project in Puerto Ri

Deerfield Beach, Fla. – Crawford-Tracey Corporation, a leading Florida-based glazing contractor specializing in unitized and pre-glazed curtain wall and window wall products, has been awarded the retrofit glazing package for the First Hospital Panamericano project in Cidra, Puerto Rico.

Crawford-Tracey will be the glazing contractor and curtain wall supplier and will work directly for Universal Health Services, Inc (UHS). This is the third project that Crawford-Tracey has been involved in with UHS as they continue to work together and build their relationship. Crawford-Tracey will be supplying and installing their Pro-Tech 7SG and Pro-Tech 45SG glazing products, both tested and approved for large missile impact with a water rating of 100 PSF. The project calls for the replacement of all the facilities windows to provide for hurricane and security protection, and high water resistance. The project installation is expected to commence in March of 2013 and to be completed by the end of July.

“The facility will be occupied as we retrofit the windows. The logistics and scheduling is being coordinated with UHS to ensure our work will cause minimal disruption of the normal day-to-day activities of the staff and patients. The hospital’s primary focus is its mental health services, so patient safety and security is critical,” says Ray Crawford, President of Crawford-Tracey.

The Pro-Tech line was ideal for this type of application due to its multiple benefits, which include: impact resistance, safety, security and proven performance in hurricane prone regions. When dealing with special needs patients, the added level of safety and security will allow the medical staff to perform their duties free from concern about glass accidents while the patients benefit and enjoy the natural daylight.

In addition to the First Hospital Panamericano, Crawford-Tracey has worked with Universal Health Services on the Wellington Regional Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida and is under contract to provide windows for the Sandy Pines Hospital in Jupiter, Florida.
